Canvas Business Model
What is that:
The Canvas Business Model is a visual tool that helps businesses map out the key elements of how they create, deliver, and capture value. It’s made up of nine building blocks that give a clear, simple overview of a company’s business model. These blocks include:
1. Customer Segments: Who are your target customers?
2. Value Propositions: What makes your product or service valuable to them?
3. Channels: How do you deliver your product or service to customers?
4. Customer Relationships: How do you interact with and support your customers?
5. Revenue Streams: How does your business make money?
6. Key Resources: What assets are essential for your business to operate?
7. Key Activities: What are the most important tasks your business must perform to succeed?
8. Key Partnerships: Who are your key partners or suppliers?
9. Cost Structure: What are the main costs to run your business?
Why it’s important:
The Canvas Business Model is important because it allows you to quickly and easily understand all aspects of your business on a single page.
Example:
A small online clothing store might target fashion-conscious customers (Customer Segments), offer trendy and affordable clothing (Value Propositions), and sell through its website (Channels), while managing customer service through social media (Customer Relationships). This helps the store stay organized and focused on its goals.
